Sing a Polyphonic Song

Presented at Currents New Media Festival, this AR project translates complex ecological systems into accessible experiential design. We focus on fungi as a central motif in our work. Initially, mushrooms captured our interest due to their presence in our daily meals. As we delved deeper, we discovered a vast kingdom of species behind this simple ingredient-each with unique ways of navigating our ever-changing world.

Inspired by their ability to navigate uncertainties and collaborate, we see fungi as valuable models for humanity, particularly in this era of rapid development. Through spatial and polyphonic storytelling using augmented reality technology, we highlight overlooked aspects of life, examining the intersections of ecology, culture, and economy.
